29 July at 8 pm – The sports town of Hafnarfjörður

Björn Pétursson will lead a walk through the centre of Hafnarfjörður. The sporting history of the town over the past few decades will be highlighted. Throughout its history, Hafnarfjörður has been called both „the sports town“ and „the handball town“. At the start of the walk, guests will be invited to view a new exhibition at the Museum of Local History's Packhouse, entitled „Hafnarfjörður: Handball Town“.“ The walk will start from the Packhouse of the Folk Museum.

The City of Hafnarfjörður is offering cultural and health walks every Wednesday evening this summer. Most of the walks take about an hour and start at 8 p.m., unless otherwise stated. The Cultural and Health Walks are a joint project by Hafnarborg, the Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum, the Hafnarfjörður Library and Healthy Hafnarfjörður. Participation is free and everyone is welcome.
