Let's give the cars a break from the town centre – The Heart of Hafnarfjörður is about to begin
The Hjarta Hafnarfjarðar music festival begins on 25th June. The car parks behind the Town Hall and at Bæjarbíó will be largely reserved for the festival. Car parks can be found within a short walking distance.
Let's go further to boost trade
Yes, now the fun begins. The music festival in the heart of Hafnarfjörður starts on 25th June with our Botleðju. Thousands of visitors flock to the town throughout the weekends that this town music festival runs.
For the weeks that the festival is running, the car parks behind the Town Hall and the Town Cinema will be reserved for the event. The car parks behind the Town Hall will be closed after 17th June so that preparations for the festival can begin.
Out of respect for the shops, restaurants and other service providers in the town centre, we strongly encourage all staff who work here to park their cars further away, to walk to work and contribute to fostering a thriving business community in a thriving town.
Does this incentive also apply to the car parks at Strandgata and Linnetstíg, all of which are short-stay car parks (30-60 minutes)?.
Yes, now it's time to take the step towards better health, a more attractive shop, excellent service and enjoyable evenings here in Hafnarfjörður.
