Hafnarborg's Autumn Exhibition 2016 – Proposals invited
Null
As in the past five years, curators have the opportunity to submit proposals for an exhibition at Hafnarborg in autumn 2016. The exhibition
The world without us The exhibition currently on display in the museum was selected from notable proposals submitted last year.
The aim of inviting submissions is to have the opportunity to select a curator with an interesting exhibition proposal, whilst also giving a platform to new talent. Particular attention is paid to providing opportunities for curators with a short career history. It has proven that there is every reason to maintain such a project, as it has resulted in diverse and interesting exhibitions that have attracted attention and been well attended.
Proposals are invited for group exhibitions where the theme, working method or other ideas connect the artists' works. Exhibitions that involve an analysis or a perspective on the work of a specific artist are also considered. Exhibitions of works by contemporary artists and exhibitions involving historical analysis are equally considered.
The deadline for submitting proposals is Monday.

The world without us bringing together Icelandic artists who work with ideas of the universe in their works and shed light on certain aspects of it. As before, the proposals came from people from various sectors, artists and academics from different fields, but also from people with specialist training in curatorial practice. With the autumn exhibition series, Hafnarborg aims to create a channel for interesting ideas, making the museum a platform where visual art can flourish, shaped by diverse perspectives and themes. The exhibitions and the symposia organised alongside them have created a significant platform for discussion and development at Hafnarborg.
