Report a lack of lighting in the feedback portal

Thank you for letting us know about the power cut.

Reports of a lack of lighting have been received, among other places, from residents of Áslandið and the centre of Hafnarfjörður. The lack of light in the town centre is due to ongoing works in the area, and every effort is being made to rectify the issue. In Áslandið, however, repeated faults occurred. Work began immediately, but the repair took several days. There can be various reasons why a lamp is not working, for example, a blown bulb, a fault in the cable or in the transformer. Residents are encouraged to report any issues with a lack of light directly via the council's feedback portal, which ensures the matter is immediately directed to the correct department.

100% LED conversion and comprehensive system control within 3 years

This work is taking place, alongside the council's 100% LED retrofit, to install new controls for the entire town's lighting system, which will facilitate all diagnostic work and responses to power cuts. This work will take 2-3 years and, in the meantime, information and reports of faulty lights will need to be handled in close cooperation with the town's residents and businesses.
