Managers return to the classroom
The Leadership Academy was launched for the first time yesterday. The aim is for all managers to attend the academy, thereby making the City of Hafnarfjörður an even more desirable place to work.
Powerful for a results-oriented culture
The first thirty managers of the City of Hafnarfjörður sat at their desks today, 7th October, and were the very first to begin their studies at the Leadership School.
The school's objectives are clear. They are to create a culture of results-oriented management in the workplace, in line with the motto of the City of Hafnarfjörður: friendly, reliable and smart service.
The aim is to enhance the leadership skills of managers at Hafnarfjörður Municipality and to encourage employees to further their development. To increase their awareness of their own impact on the development of workplace culture and the success of their organisation. They attend eight different 3.5-hour workshops before graduating. The aim is for as many managers as possible to complete the programme within the next three years.
Managers are empowering
The managers gain insight into, among other things, empowering leadership training, good governance, how the leader is a driving force, finance, equality and management.
The school began with a lecture by Sigríður Indriðadóttir from SAGA Competence. She is a human resources specialist with many years of experience and extensive knowledge in the fields of management, human resources and operations.
The establishment of the Leadership School is one step towards making the City of Hafnarfjörður an even more attractive employer, comprised of a strong leadership team and satisfied staff, in line with the City of Hafnarfjörður's human resources policy. Lecturers come from both the business community and within the City of Hafnarfjörður.
Yes, strong leaders make the town even better.
