Music in March, May, Strawberry and at the library

News

There will be a number of musical events at the library in March. It is well worth coming along to Wednesday afternoons. The nursery children will also get to enjoy the music when Mæja jarðaber holds 12 concerts at the library during the month. Around 60 nursery children are expected at each music event.

Nearly 60 nursery children will attend each of Maja the Strawberry's music events at the Hafnarfjörður Library this March. Maja the Strawberry is holding 12 concerts at the library during the month, and it is expected that all the town's nurseries will bring their children. Songs from The Fruit Basket will be sung, and Maja will also talk about friendship. The session is expected to last for about an hour in total. The dates in question are the 11th, 12th, 13th, 18th, 19th and 20th of March.

Mæja jarðarber also held a concert at the library on Museum Night and was a hit with both children and adults. The twelve concerts are now spread throughout the month and take place between 9:20 and 10:45. Regular library visitors at each session can then enjoy them with the children.

Natalía will demonstrate the wide range of emotions the piano can evoke and talk about her 10 years of musical training. She aims to show that we can all love the piano. And there are more events.

Music belongs in the library

Yes, Wednesdays are Music Days at Hafnarfjörður Library, and music belongs there too. The library has a music department, one of the first and largest of its kind in the country's libraries. You can borrow guitars, bass guitars, drum kits, other percussion instruments and ukuleles.  Music lovers can also hire records, CDs, and record and CD players.
