Thursday, 9th July at 8 p.m. We will walk in the footsteps of the artist Hanna Davíðsson, who began her household in the Sívertsen House in 1912. The house, which is considered the oldest in the town, is now part of the Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum. We will hear about the places that inspired Hanna's art, and the walk will conclude with a visit to the Fríkirkjan in Hafnarfjörður, where Hanna's works hold a special place.
The walk will be from the Packhouse of the Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum at 6 West Street.
Ólöf K. Sigurðardóttir, director of Hafnarborg, leads the walk along with Hulda Cathincu Guðmundsdóttir, Hanna's granddaughter. Ólöf worked on an exhibition of Hanna's work, which was held at Hafnarborg at the beginning of the year, drawing attention to the work of this dedicated artist who lived and worked in Hafnarfjörður all her life.
The Summer Walks are a collaboration between the City of Hafnarfjörður, the Folk Museum, the Library and the Office of Cultural Affairs in Hafnarfjörður. The walks are supported by the Port of Hafnarfjörður.
