The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður recently launched the new podcast, Vitann. In the first episode of The Vitan, Sigurjón Ólafsson, Director of the Service and Development Department, spoke with Björn Pétursson, the town's antiquary, about Hafnarfjörður Museum of Local History. The second episode is now live, a chat with Eva Michelsen, project manager for the St. Jó's Wellbeing Centre. A new episode is planned for release weekly.
In Vitanum, we chat with interesting individuals who work for the benefit of the town. The podcast covers the council's services, interesting development projects, and a wide range of topics. It opens up to a more in-depth discussion of specific projects, services, and issues that are currently a hot topic. All episodes of Vitanum can be accessed. Here but also on podcast platforms such as Spotify , Simplecast and Podcast Addict. Work is underway to make Vitann available on more platforms.
Episode #2: Eva Michelsen, Project Manager of the St. Jó's Wellbeing Centre

In another interview for Vitan, Communications Manager Árdís Ármannsdóttir speaks with Eva Michelsen, Project Manager for the St. Jó Quality of Life Centre. On 5th September, the St. Jó premises were reopened after six years of uncertainty. Today, fifteen companies operate within the centre's walls, all of which share the common goal of serving the community through health promotion and improved quality of life. Eva recounts the backstory and talks about the construction work that has been underway for the past two years. This first phase of St. Jó's development, which has now been formally opened, is considered an outstanding success, and the atmosphere created by the arrival of the impressive businesses and charities is unique. An exhibition in the St. Jó lobby does excellent justice to the history of the Sisters of St. Joseph in the building. The exhibition is open to all, and you are welcome to pop in for a coffee in „the heart“ – the meeting place for staff and visitors – at the centre of the floor that has now been opened.
