The concert of the Schools' Symphony Orchestra will be held in Langholtskirkja on Saturday, 31st January at 16:00. This time, there are 9 students from the Hafnarfjörður Music School in the orchestra.

The concert of the Schools' Symphony Orchestra will be held in Langholtskirkja on Saturday, 31st January at 16:00.
The percussion soloist with the orchestra is Helgi Þorleiksson, a student at the Garðabær Music School.

The conductor is Guðmundur Óli Gunnarsson.

The programme includes the following works:
A. Marquez: Conga del Fuego Nuevo
Áskell Másson: Concerto for Snare Drum and Orchestra
A. Dvořák: Symphony No. 8 in G major

The Symphony Orchestra of the Music Schools, established in 2004, is a collaborative project of five music schools in the capital region, the FÍH Music School, Hafnarfjörður Music School, Kópavogur Music School, Garðabær Music School and the Sigursveinn D. Kristinsson School of Music. The orchestra is made up of 90 young music students, most of whom are of primary and secondary school age.

Nine students from the Hafnarfjörður Music School are in the orchestra.
