Cultural grants awarded
The City of Hafnarfjörður awarded cultural grants at a ceremony in Hafnarborg last Friday, and 23 individuals, cultural groups or organisations received grants from the Cultural and Tourism Committee this year.
The City of Hafnarfjörður awarded cultural grants at a ceremony in Hafnarborg last Friday, and 23 individuals, cultural groups or organisations received grants from the Cultural and Tourism Committee this year. Grants totalling kr. 4,240,000 were awarded. In addition, the Gaflar Theatre receives kr. 20,000,000 per year under a contract.

The Thresti Men's Choir kr. 150,000.
Barabara's Choir kr. 150,000.
Öldutúnsskóli Choir kr. 200,000, as the choir is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Hafnarfjörður Brass Band kr. 500,000.
Hafnarfjörður Theatre Society kr. 500,000.
Apprenticeship Fund kr. 500,000.
Ólafur B. Ólafsson kr. 100,000 for the event Sungið í Kænunni.
Camerarctica for a concert in Hafnarfjörður kr. 150,000
Guido Werner Baumer, on behalf of an international tango group, for a concert this summer kr. 100,000.
The band Alchemia for the release of an album: kr. 150,000.
