In 2015, Víðivellir Nursery School received recognition from the Education Council for its professionalism and school development. The school has been engaged in a wide range of development work and has been a leader in many areas.
The aim of the Education Council's award is to highlight the importance of school work in the community and to recognise individual projects that promote school development, collaboration and initiative. The award is presented annually.
