Sand at the Service Centre
The City of Hafnarfjörður's Service Centre is on duty almost around the clock for gritting and sanding.
There is a great deal of ice and slush on the roads, pavements and car parks throughout the town at the moment. The City of Hafnarfjörður's service centre is on duty almost around the clock for gritting and sanding, but this is not always enough.
As in previous years, residents of Hafnarfjörður can collect sand from the town's Service Centre, located on Norðurhellu. Sand can be taken from buckets, and bags and shovels are available on site. The buckets are always filled at the end of the day.
We encourage residents to be aware of their local surroundings and to assist with sanding to ensure the safety of everyone.
