Hafnarfjörður Municipality and Blátt áfram have signed an agreement regarding education against sexual violence towards children for the years 2015 and 2016.
For several years, the City of Hafnarfjörður has offered staff who work with children and young people a course from Blátt áfram, which covers preventative measures against sexual violence. Around 700 staff members have attended such training. It is now guaranteed that new staff will receive such training over the next two years. It is a collaborative project where Blátt áfram provides the teaching materials, the Family Service provides staff to teach the courses, and the Education and Leisure Service organises and promotes them. Through this work, family service staff manage to build good relationships with staff at Hafnarfjörður municipality who are involved in the care and upbringing of children, making it easier for them to ensure child safety and teaching them how to respond correctly should a problem arise.
