A varied programme and fun activities are on offer at Hafnarfjörður Library during the Children's Book and Film Festival. SMS flash fiction competition, young people's poetry, a lending game, a treasure hunt and a story on wrapping paper.

Hafnarfjörður Library is taking an active part in the Children's Book and Film Festival, and there's plenty going on! All week, anyone who borrows children's books can take part in a prize draw where book prizes will be won. Passers-by are encouraged to take part in writing one big story together on wrapping paper in the children's section, and participation is also open for a text message short story competition.  On Tuesday, there will be a treasure hunt around the library from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Wednesday, there will be a book bingo in the multipurpose room at 5 p.m.

  • Poems of young people. A national poetry writing competition for pupils in Years 4-10. Pupils submit their poems to the school library or online via the library's website. For more information, please see your school's library!
