Books and Film at Setberg School
A creative and educational project about the interplay between literature and film was carried out at Setbergsskóli during the 2016 Children's Book and Film Festival week.
To mark the cultural festival, the Children's Book and Film Festival, pupils in 2nd ARP at Setbergsskóli worked on a project based on the first book by the Hafnarfjörður author Guðrún Helgadóttir. Her first book is about the mischievous twin brothers, Jon Odd and Jon Bjarni, which was published in 1974, and three books about the brothers followed.
The Interplay between Literature and Film – Jón Oddur and Jón Bjarni
The children drew a mind map about this fun story, listing everything they knew about it whilst also learning various things about its background. The children then finished by watching the film 'Jón Oddur and Jón Bjarni' by Þráinn Bertelsson, which is based on the story from the books. This was a creative, fun and educational project about the interplay between literature and film. The project was inspired by a fantastic cultural festival organised by the City of Hafnarfjörður.
