Let's break down isolation and strengthen connections!

A new group for young people aged 16-25 is starting in the coming weeks at Hreiðrið in the Innovation Centre by the Stream. The group is for those who want to reach out for connection and friendship.

„The group is intended for young people who have become socially isolated for some reason and for all those who want to meet others,“ says Berglind Rún Torfadóttir, the department manager. She has experience in similar work at The House and says this new group is based on the idea. Kind there.

Berglind Rún Torfadóttir, Head of the Department.

„We will focus on empowering individuals socially and creating a healthy environment for leisure and entertainment,“ she says. „There will be a varied programme developed in collaboration with the group.“

The group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 17:00-20:00. „Registration takes place here and we are aiming for the group work to begin in November.“ Participation is free of charge for applicants.

  • Please get in touch if you have any questions! All those who register will be contacted. Registration here.

„We hope to have about ten in the group,“ says Berglind. „In my experience, you always form bonds in groups like these, and we focus on creating a good environment for them to connect with others, build their social confidence, and make good acquaintances and friends.“

Updated: Please note, the group was originally scheduled to meet on Thursdays. It will now be on Tuesdays.
