12 million króna allocation for sports activities

Yesterday, ÍBH's member clubs received a 12 million króna grant from Rio Tinto and the City of Hafnarfjörður for sports activities for under-18s.  The 2021 Equality Incentive Awards were awarded to Fimleikafélagið Björk, kr. 500,000, for the largest increase in male members and Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar, kr. 500,000, for the largest increase in female members.  The grants were presented at a ceremony in Álfafell in the Sports Hall on Strandgata. 1000 years of experience

For the sixth consecutive year, the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður is awarding its staff special recognition for 25 years of continuous service with the municipality. This year, 40 employees were recognised for this length of service, which equates to 1,000 years of combined collaboration and experience in a wide variety of roles across the council's sites. A large proportion of the group have worked for several years, while some have been with the council for decades.
