Middle School Form Tutor – Setbergsskóli
The Council is in office from 1 August 2026.
Setbergsskóli was founded in 1989 and has around 430 pupils. The school also runs a special unit for children with autism. It is situated in beautiful surroundings which offer great opportunities for outdoor activities.
A good working atmosphere and positive communication characterise the staff team, and the well-being of students and staff is always our guiding principle. The school undertakes ambitious work with a special focus on team teaching, guided learning and a growth mindset, a diverse learning environment, literacy, creativity, democracy and constructive feedback.

Key responsibilities and duties:
- Responsible for general teaching and supervision in the middle school.
- Working on the development of school operations in collaboration with management and colleagues.
- Promote the welfare and safety of students in collaboration with parents and professionals.
- Working in accordance with the school's policy and values.
- Collaboration with staff of the special unit for students with autism.
- Other tasks as specified in the job description and as assigned to the employee by their manager.
Educational and competency requirements:
- Teaching licence (a licence must accompany the application).
- A solid understanding of the pedagogy of subjects in the middle school.
- Interest in working with children and young people.
- Positivity and a will to succeed in work.
- Agility in communication, flexibility and cooperativeness.
- Initiative and independence in work methods.
- Punctuality and conscientiousness.
- Very good Icelandic skills.
A clean criminal record is required upon employment.
