We at Víðistaðaskóli are looking for a creative, imaginative and driven Design and Construction teacher to join our excellent team of other art and vocational subjects teachers. The school is well-equipped and has excellent facilities at its disposal.

Vídistaðaskóli has over 500 pupils and around 100 staff members. We place an emphasis on diversity, pupil well-being, teamwork and teaching, and a variety of teaching methods. Key responsibilities and duties: 

• Providing instruction in innovation, arts and crafts, design and construction at all levels.
• Works to develop school operations in collaboration with management and colleagues.
• Promotes the welfare of students in collaboration with parents and professionals.
• Works in accordance with the school's policy 
• Other tasks as per the job description and as assigned by a superior.

Educational and competency requirements: 

• Teaching licence (copy of licence to be attached to the application)
• A solid understanding of the pedagogy of subject areas
• Interest in working with children and young people.
• Agility in communication, flexibility and cooperativeness.
• Initiative and independence in work methods.
• Positivity and an interest in working in a creative and ambitious environment.
• Punctuality and conscientiousness
• Very good Icelandic skills

The post is 100% and the appointment is from 1 August 2026.
