The schools come to life again

Primary school term in Hafnarfjörður begins tomorrow, Tuesday, 25th August. The schools will be filled with life again as pupils return for the start of term after the summer holidays.

Staff at the primary schools have spent the past few days preparing for the school year, planning teaching and taking part in training and professional development. Among the major initiatives at the start of the school year is the implementation of evidence-based reading teaching methods in Years 1 and 2 of the primary schools in Hafnarfjörður.

There are eleven primary schools in Hafnarfjörður. Nine of them are run by the municipality of Hafnarfjörður, while the Hjalli School of the Hjalli Educational Philosophy and NÚ – Progressive Education are independent. We wish NÚ a happy anniversary for the celebration the school held at the weekend.
