Five received awards for the most and most unusual fish

Over 400 fishing enthusiasts from Hafnarfjörður, aged 6-12, gathered at Flensborg pier in Hafnarfjörður yesterday, armed themselves with their fishing gear and competed to catch the most and the most unusual fish. A water outage is expected on Holt on Wednesday evening.

Due to repairs by the water company, a water outage can be expected in Holt from 10 p.m. on Wednesday evening, 26th June. The repair work is expected to take approximately three hours, and residents are advised not to run their dishwashers or washing machines during this time.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Maintenance work at the Hafnarfjörður sewerage system

Due to maintenance work on the sewer pipe, it is necessary to divert part of the sewage to the overflow at Fjarðartorg. The maintenance work will take place in the early hours of Monday morning. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

8,900 trees planted for the 2018 financial year

The City of Hafnarfjörður is carbon-offsetting its municipal operations, the first of the Icelandic municipalities to do so. The City of Hafnarfjörður today signed an agreement with Kolvið for the carbon offsetting of its operations, and the project covers all of the municipality's institutions, around 70 in total.
