Winners of the pike fishing competition

The Hafnarfjörður sports fishing courses held their annual dorgveiðikeppni competition at Flensborg Pier on Wednesday. Over 300 anglers aged 6-12 turned up at the pier and caught nearly 100 fish. Various sea creatures were caught, such as cod, whiting, sea bream and a starfish. Hörður Rafnar Auðarson Pálmarsson caught some kind of bristle worm and received a prize for the oddest fish. Fly-fishing competition

On Wednesday, 24th June, the play schemes in Hafnarfjörður are holding the annual angling competition at Flensborg Pier. The competition is open to all children aged six to twelve. For over 20 years, the City of Hafnarfjörður has organised this angling competition, and last year over 300 children took part, catching nearly 200 fish. Nursing home in the Sólvang area

At a meeting of the Family Council last Friday, a proposal was approved for a new 60-bed care home to be built on the Sólvang site, in accordance with the existing agreement with the Ministry of Welfare from 2010. Happy birthday

Organised celebrations are planned across the country today to mark the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage. Hafnarfjörður municipal employees will be off from midday today, thus giving them the opportunity to take part in the celebrations. The town's institutions will therefore be closed from midday on 19 June, but all emergency services will be available.
