You are invited to the Creative Summer Jobs 2025 closing party.
In collaboration with the City of Hafnarfjörður and the Hafnarfjörður Summer Job Scheme, the Innovation Centre warmly welcomes you to the Creative Summer Jobs finale. Tuesday, 29th July between 3pm and 6pm.
The young people show the results of the summer
This summer, a group of young people have been working on a variety of creative projects, and on 29 July they are inviting residents of Hafnarfjörður and all interested parties to come, meet the young people and see the projects together in one space. Between At 15:00 and 18:00 there will be a special programme. where the young people show the results of the summer:
- 3:00 p.m. Opening remarks. The coordinator of Creative Summer Jobs, Þorbjörg Signý Ágústsson, welcomes guests.
- At 15:10 Omstadur, performed by Unu and Kristjonas. Una mist and Kristijonas Groblys perform a musical piece for guests using handmade instruments. After the programme, they can be found in the Writing Studio for another performance, where guests are invited to see the instruments, listen to the music and chat with the artists.
- 15:20 Poetry reading with Iðu Ósk. Iða Ósk reads some poems for guests from her poetry book. After the programme, guests will have the opportunity to look at the project and the book in more detail.
- 3:30 p.m. Emotions, project presentation Mirra Hjartardóttir. Mirra will give a short presentation, then invite children and parents to join her at 4 pm in the Experimental Workshop to have a brief go on the game before she hosts a painting session on the same principles as the game itself.
- at 15:40 A reading from a book with Smára Hannessyni. Smári reads from his book, Eldar. Guests will have the opportunity to look at the first drafts of the book and sign up for the pre-order list after the event.
- 4:00 p.m. Violin playing with Thomas Vigour. Tomas keeps things light and concludes the programme with a few well-chosen songs.
- From 4 pm to 6 pm Guests are invited to stroll between the stalls and rooms. Participants in the Creative Summer Jobs programme welcome visitors and chat with them about their summer achievements and their projects, and show those interested the results of the past few months.
The event is open to all and we encourage residents of Hafnarfjörður and visitors to attend, support young people in their creativity and enjoy what will be on offer. More of this summer's creative projects will be presented in more detail next week, among them are Robbery, Iris, Hanna and Birta.
