Sales tents/houses on 17th June

Those interested in hiring a sales hut for 17th June can apply for a sales licence from the City of Hafnarfjörður at ith@hafnarfjordur.is. Sales licences are not allocated to individuals. Ludwig appointed harbour master

Ludvík Geirsson has been appointed harbourmaster of the Port of Hafnarfjörður.  Lúðvík sat on the Harbour Board from 1986-90 and from 1994-2010, as chairman of the Harbour Board from 2013-14, and was harbour master of the Port of Hafnarfjörður alongside serving as mayor from 2002-2004.  The Harbour Board approved at its meeting this morning to appoint Ludvík Geirsson as harbour master. Fees for containers

The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður has decided to introduce a procedure for charging a standing fee on containers, in accordance with section 2.6.1 of the Building Regulations No. 112/2012 and the regulations on position permits, which were approved by the Hafnarfjörður Town Council on 20 January 2016. The fee is for one year at a time, and the first charging period is from 1 May 2016 to 30 April 2017. Primary School Champions 2015-2016

Lækjarskóli is the winner of the Hafnarfjörður primary school sports competition for the 2015-2016 school year. The competition is held annually, and it is the Year 9 pupils of the primary schools who compete on behalf of their schools each year. This year's competition was held at Ásvellir, but the venue alternates between Ásvellir and Kaplakriki. Similarly, the sports competed in vary slightly depending on the venue.

Pre-registration for school gardens

This summer, children aged 7–12 (born 2004–2009) have priority to register for the school gardens of the City of Hafnarfjörður.  Registration began on the first of May and closes on 14th May. After this date, everyone else with a permanent residence in Hafnarfjörður will have the opportunity to rent a plot.
