We at Víðistaðaskóli are looking for a creative, imaginative and driven class teacher for the school's early years department. The successful candidate will join a great team of colleagues. The school is well-equipped and has excellent facilities.

Vídistaðaskóli has over 500 pupils and around 100 staff members. We place an emphasis on diversity, pupil well-being, teamwork and teaching, and a variety of teaching methods. • Teaching at the youngest level
• Works to develop school operations in collaboration with management and colleagues.

Educational and competency requirements:

• Teaching licence
• A solid understanding of the pedagogy of subject areas
• Interest in working with children and young people
• Agility in communication, flexibility and cooperativeness
• Initiative and autonomy in work methods
• Positivity and an interest in working in a creative and ambitious environment
• Punctuality and conscientiousness
• Very good Icelandic skills, at a minimum C1 according to Self-assessment framework

The job share is 100% and the appointment is from 1 August 2026.

A condition of employment is that the applicant has a clean criminal record.
