Hafnarfjörður is looking to hire a dynamic employee for a rewarding position at the Miðstöðin, a newly merged work and activity centre for people with disabilities. The work is carried out according to a philosophy Servant leadership.

This is an exciting, educational and progressive 100% future role with a variety of tasks. A standard day's work from 8 am to 4 pm or 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Key responsibilities and duties:

• Providing service users with support with activities of daily living
• Promote the activity and social participation of disabled people in society.
• Follow service plans and procedures
• Enable service users to work and take part in various leisure activities.
• Provides support and accompaniment in work and activity
• Other duties as described in the job description

Competency requirements:

• Experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Interest in the affairs of disabled people
• Knowledge of Icelandic is a requirement.
• Service-mindedness and positivity at work
• Interpersonal skills
• Initiative and conscientiousness
• Flexibility in work

The condition is that the person has reached the age of 20 and has a clean criminal record.

Salary in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Federation of Icelandic Municipalities and the Hafnarfjörður Staff Association.
