Í samstarfi við Skapandi sumarstörf í Hafnarfirði, og með hlýlegum stuðningi Anthony Bacigalupo og Ýrar Káradóttur, verður haldin myndlistarsýning í The Shed – vandaðri verslun og samkomurými sem þau reka af ástríðu fyrir listum og menningarlífi.

Í þessari sýningu, sem unnin er af Rán Sigurjónsdóttur, eru gestir boðnir til að skyggnast inn í heiminn eins og hún ímyndar sér að álfarnir í Hafnarfirði skynji hann.

Listaverkin eru unnin úr býflugnavaxi og náttúrulegum gróðri sem hún hef safnað hér í bænum. Vaxið myndar gruggugt yfirborð – eins konar dularfulla himnu milli heima. Með verkunum leitast Rán við að opna glufu inn í annan veruleika og bjóða áhorfandanum að skyggnast inn í heim sem er okkur flestum hulin.

Sýningaropnunin fer fram fimmtudaginn 4. september kl. 18–20, og sýningin stendur til 11. september. Sýningin verður opin alla virka daga frá kl. 16–18 og um helgina 6.–7. september frá kl. 13–15.

Aðgangur er ókeypis og öll eru hjartanlega velkomin.

The Shed er staðsett í bakgarði, með bílastæði við Suðurgötu.

You are warmly invited to the exhibition opening on September 4th, from 6-8 PM.

In collaboration with Skapandi sumarstörf (Creative Summer Jobs) in Hafnarfjörður, and with the kind support of Anthony Bacigalupo and Ýr Káradóttir, an art exhibition will be held at The Shed – a thoughtfully curated shop and gathering space, run with a passion for art and cultural life.

This exhibition, created by Rán Sigurjónsdóttir, invites guests to glimpse the world through the eyes of the elves of Hafnarfjörður, as she imagines they see it.

The artworks are made from beeswax and natural plant materials that Rán has collected locally. The wax creates a slightly obscure surface – a kind of mysterious membrane between worlds. Through the works, she seeks to open a small passage into another reality and invite the viewer to peer into a world that remains hidden to most of us.

The opening will take place on Thursday, September 4th, from 6 to 8 PM, and the exhibition will run through September 11th. It will be open on weekdays from 4 to 6 PM, and on the weekend of September 6th and 7th from 1 to 3 PM. Admission is free, and all are warmly welcome.

The Shed is situated in a backyard space, and parking is available at Suðurgata.
