Mótið verður dæmt samkvæmt venjulegum skylmingarreglum (1 dómari og 1 aðstoðardómari, 3 mín bardagar eða upp í 8 stig) en það verður ekki alvarlegt mót – það verður allt kostað til að gera það skemmtilegt:

Breytileg vopn – Rapier, sabre, langsverð, rýtingur (e. rondell), sverð og skjöldur, spjót og bukklari (lítill skjöldur), -/allt plastvopn/-, eru bara nokkur af vopnunum sem barist verður með. Bardagakappar draga miða úr hatti fyrir hvern bardaga sem ákveður hvaða vopn þeir þurfa að nota gegn hvor öðrum. Þetta gerir suma bardaga miklu áhugaverðari og aðra algjöra brandara!

Stigakeppni – Hér er ekki um útsláttarkeppni að ræða heldur stigakeppni. Því er um að gera að næla sér í sem flest stig á þeim þrem mínútum sem bardaginn er. Keppnin endar ekki þegar allir hafa keppt við alla, heldur þegar tímasetning mótsins klárast, s.s. ~2 klst eftir að mótið byrjar. Þetta þýðir að hver einstaklingur keppir fleiri bardaga en í venjulegri útsláttarkeppni.
Þú færð eins mörg stig og þú skorar í bardaganum (mest 8 stig)

Keppendum verður úthlutað andstæðing af handahófi í hverri lotu en keppendur mega skipta andstæðingum á milli sín ef þeir hafa keppt við hvorn annan áður. Það er þó algerlega þeirra eigið val. Þetta ætti að gera keppnina skemmtilegri fyrir keppendur.

Fyrir mótið verður hægt að koma frá kl. 21 og prófa að skylmast með frauðsverðum fyrir þá sem langar, en þá mætum við til að stilla upp fyrir mótið, og hér geta allir tekið þátt sem vilja, meira að segja keppendur !

Við hvetjum öll til að mæta og fylgjast með mótinu, enda verður þetta algjör bomba að fylgjast með !

Ölvun ógildir þátttöku í nokkru sem fram fer á viðburðinum.

Allir 16 ára og eldri geta skráð sig – engin reynsla er þörf og grunnbúnað er hægt að fá lánað (upp að vissu marki)

The tournament starts at 23 and ends at 01:00
The tournament received a grant from Bjartir dagar in Hafnafjörður
Everyone is welcome to try fencing from 21 when we start setting up for the tournament
The permission to host the tournament at Víðistaðatún just landed, and we’re super excited this is all coming together !

The tournament will be judged according to standard fencing rules (1 referee and 1 assistant referee, 3 min bouts or up to 8 points) but it will not be a serious tournament – it will all be silly and fun:

Random weapons – Rapier, sabre, longsword, dagger (rondell), sword and shield, spear and buckler (small shield), -/all plastic weapons/-, are just some of the weapons that will be used. Fighters pull slips out of a hat before each bout which determines which weapons they must use against each other. This makes some battles much more interesting and others a complete joke!

Point system – This is not a knockout competition, but a point system. It’s about getting as many points as possible in the 3 minutes of each bout. The competition does not end when everyone has competed with everyone, but when the timing of the tournament ends, e.g. ~2 hours after the tournament starts. This means that each individual competes in more bouts than in a normal knockout competition.
You get as many points as you score in the bout (max 8 points)

Competitors will be randomly assigned an opponent in each round, but competitors may switch opponents between themselves if they have competed against each other before, it is entirely their own choice. This should make the competition fun for the contestants.

We will arrive at 21:00 and everyone (even competitors!) is welcome to join us and try fencing with foam swords before the tournament starts

We encourage everyone to attend and watch the tournament, as it will be a real blast !

Intoxication invalidates participation in any event.

Anyone aged 16 and over can sign up – no experience is necessary and basic equipment can be borrowed (up to a certain limit)
